1. Didcot

There are many highly rated schools in Didcot such as: Aureus Primary School, Didcot Girls’ School and Didcot Primary Academy. Blewbury Church of England Primary School and Chilton County Primary School are also very well regarded.

As well as having great schools, there is plenty for families to do in Didcot. There are multiple parks and green spaces in the town, along with a large community library with frequent events, the Didcot Wave Leisure Pool & Gym and the Didcot Music Centre for getting involved in bands, choirs and orchestras.

 

2. Henley-on-Thames

This charming town offers a selection of highly sought after primary schools, such as Badgemore Primary School, Peppard Church of England Primary School and Valley Road School. Additionally there is also a sixth form college, The Henley College, and a secondary, Gillotts School, which is also an Academy.

Henley-on-Thames is known for its wonderful lifestyle, as the picturesque town sits on the river with its famous yearly regatta, and is surrounded by woodlands and countryside. There are excellent shops and eateries in Henley, and also a characterful cinema, the Regal Picturehouse, and the Kenton Theatre to keep families entertained.

3. Reading

Reading is home to a wide array of revered schools! Just to name a few primary schools, there is: Aldryngton Primary School, Birch Copse Primary School, Emmer Green Primary School and All Saints Junior School. For secondary schools you have Reading School, Kendrick School and Maiden Erlegh School.

As a large, lively town, Reading offers a large array of shops and places to eat, as well as plenty of options for activities and days out, such as Palmer Park Sports Stadium with its vast array of sports facilities or Beale Wildlife Park, a 40-acre outdoor wildlife sanctuary along the River Thames. And of course it is very commutable, being only 30 minutes from London by train.

 

4. Wantage

Wantage boasts lots of high quality schools, including Fitzwaryn School (ages 3-19), Stockham Primary School and Wantage Primary Academy. There is also the very popular Millbrook Primary School and King Alfred’s, a secondary Academy.

This gorgeous market town is idyllic for family lifestyle, as it is filled with lovely places to eat and drink, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, which makes it equipped with outdoorsy activities and lots of charming walks. It also features the Vale & Downland Museum which celebrates local history and of course the market every Wednesday and Saturday.
